Birth Detroit Care is a community-based maternal health practice, offering prenatal and postpartum care by midwives, as well as childbirth education and postpartum support. Birth Detroit Care is patterned after the JJWay® maternal health model Easy Access Clinic™, which centers access, connection, knowledge and empowerment as keys to a healthy pregnancy, healthy birth and healthy baby. Birth Detroit provides safe, quality, loving care through pregnancy, birth and beyond.
Birth Center Equity was created to make birth center care an option in every community, by growing and sustaining birth centers led by Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC).
We envision a world where every community has access to a birth center.
Midwifery care is holistic, healing, and humanistic. It has a rich herstory and legacy in communities of color.
Our vision is to make this care accessible to all peoples- especially Black, Brown, youth, immigrant, indigenous, LGBTQ+, low- income and other marginalized communities.
Our mission is to expand Birth Justice by using story telling, popular education, and community organizing to improve access to midwifery and doula care.
Elephant Circle brings an intersectional, feminist, reproductive justice, design thinking approach to birth justice.
Mothering Justice is a grassroots policy advocacy organization that provides mothers of color in America with the resources and tools to use their power to make equitable changes in policy. We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for families in America by empowering mothers of color to take action on American policy on behalf of themselves and their families.
